Chandrayaan-2 Orbiter Detects etected the impact of solar Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) on the Moon’s exosphere
In a major scientific milestone, ISRO’s Chandrayaan-2 orbiter has, for the first time, detected the impact of solar Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) on the Moon’s exosphere. Using the CHACE-2 instrument, scientists observed a sharp rise in atmospheric pressure as solar particles struck the lunar surface. The findings offer new insights into lunar space weather and its implications for future human missions on the Moon.
