Putin Praises PM Modi as a “Very Wise Leader” Amid Strong India-Russia Ties

SOCHI (RUSSIA) – Russian President Vladimir Putin lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a “very wise leader who thinks first about his country.” Speaking at the Valdai Discussion Club, Putin emphasized the “privileged strategic partnership” between India and Russia, reaffirming the strong bilateral ties between the two nations.

Putin’s remarks come amid strong US pressure on India regarding its energy ties with Moscow. Putin expressed confidence that PM Modi would not allow India to be “humiliated” by external forces and would always prioritize national interests.

He also confirmed that he is scheduled to visit India later this year (in December) for the annual bilateral summit with Prime Minister Modi
