A five-year-old girl has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after she was allegedly raped by her stepfather in Akola, Maharashtra. The girl remains in critical condition while undergoing treatment.

According to the police, the assault took place while the girl’s mother was out attending a Navratri event to perform Garba, a traditional dance. The mother stated that she had left her daughter and son in the care of her husband (the stepfather).

Upon returning home, she reportedly heard her daughter groaning loudly. The girl then disclosed the horrific incident to her mother, who immediately took her to a hospital. The police have since arrested the stepfather in connection with the crime.
